The Arkhangelsk Regional Youth Theatre was created in 1975 by Victor Panov with support of the B. Shchukin Theatrical School of the E. Vakhtangov Academic Theatre. Victor Panov is an unchallenged director, art manager and inspirer of all cultural project of the Arkhangelsk Youth Theatre.

Performances, which became the basic marks of life of the Youth Theatre, are "Stop Malakhov!", "If you don't like don't listen it" under fairy-tales of S. Pisakhov and B. Shergin, "In Memory of Vysotski", "Tomorrow there was a war", "Three sisters", "Suicide", "Dog's heart", "Dark avenues" and others.

Repeatedly the Arkhangelsk Youth Theatre carried out creative laboratories with participation of leading critics, playwrights, directors. the Arkhangelsk Youth Theatre has become a base for three correspondence courses of actors organized together with a school of authority, the St-Petersburg Academy of theatrical art. The most part of the graduating students are now working in our company.

Since 1988 the theatre has been organizing the International Street Theatre Festival in Arkhangelsk. Since 1990, it becomes a traditional annual Festival. In 1992, the project "The International Street Theatres Festival in Arkhangelsk" was included in the Program of UNESCO "The World Decade of Cultural Development".

The Arkhangelsk Youth Theatre regularly played on tour all over the Arkhangelsk area, visited many cities of Russia and of the Baltic Sea, in the USA and Poland.

The Youth Theatre took part in many theatre festivals of Russia, France, England, Italy, Norway, Holland, Germany, including, the most prestigious Avignon Festival, where more than 500 companies from the different countries of the world arrived. The Youth Theatre showed in Avignon such performances as "If you don't like don't listen it", "King has arrived", "Bolero". In 1995 performance "If you don't like don't listen it" had a huge success, received high responses in the French press, and the theatre became a member of five best theatres of Avignon Festival.

In 1994 manager of the Theatre V. Panov was given the honorable rank "Honored Art Worker of the Russian Federation".

In the summer of 2001, the Theatre represented the performance "Bolero" during the Third World Theatrical Olympiad in Moscow. More than 200 best theatres from all over the world participated in various programs of Olympiad.

In September, 2003 the performance "If you don't like don't listen it" became the prize winner of the I. Vampilov All-Russia Theatrical Festival of Modern Dramatic Art in nomination "for development of national traditions, for huge contribution to a treasury of Russian folklore, as inexhaustible source of Russian culture ".

In October 2003 - the Theatre is the winner of the International Festival "Theatrical days in Carfagen" in Tunis.

In one word, a creative manner of theatre consists in the bright, expressive, sharp art form, keeping in itself a psychological picture of drama material. The theatre strongly gravitates towards to search and experiment.
